My Clutch

My clutch doesn't have much of a biting point, its a sports clutch that is either on or off. Is this gonna be an issue when i finally start to drift? I presume it depends what method of drifting is used.

i've not had a great deal of practice with my AP paddle, but its far far better than my old clutch so far for launching sideways and clutch kick as there's very little slip. :)

I think it will be ok, i will probably need a new one soon anyway. I think when you have not done it before you get use to what you have.

on off will be better if anything, clutch kick should be more 'precise' with it.

don't hurry to replace it unless it really is buggered, and if you do go for the same. saying that phil seems to like his standard clutch

as opposed to cueball ?

One word may be racist to one person, to another it may have no meaning. The internet is full of words, some people take offence to them.

I do not think Sambo in anyway is trying to offend.

I have known Sambo through various drift meets in Scotland and will vouch his character is anything but racist - genuine / helpful to say the least.

I myself never knew the name was rascist and wouldn't have even thought it might have been without this thread raising it as an issue.

If people have a problem with peoples nicknames maybe its wise to discuss it with them first instead of a public display? as shown people might be in the dark to your upset :( if not sorted that way then contact a mod admin and you would also have evidence of the person acknowledgement to the issue

I dont think 'Sambo' has been used as a racist term for yonks. I vaguely remember Alf Garnett using the word in the 70s comedy Till Death Do Us Part.

Its also a Russian Martial Art. Grrrr, bad Russians, what were they thinking.

Anyway, back on topic.

Ive got an AP paddle and Nismo cover. Works well and dont have a problem with it for drifting. In fact its pretty nice as its more positive for clutch kick.

What power do you reckon that set up would be good for?

GarySCA (APT) was running the same set up at over 400bhp. Ive given it a 5K launch at it didnt miss a beat.

I run a Helix paddle with a Nismo cover. However it is very close to not engaging at all now. But then in it's life it has had 6 drift days plus plenty of practices over a year.

apologies if you see it like that mate, but it is genuinely not intended to be anything remotely racist, as the thread on sxoc says i've been called this since i was 13 i think, so after 7 years it kind of sticks. i only found out the meaning after i'd registered as it on a few BB's, but didn't think anyone would take offence as i really am totally un-racist :( if you want to speak to me about it, please drop me a pm and lets keep this thread on topic. thanks to all for the support :)
