Mr Bizzle
In Safe Hands
Hey Folks
My Explorer is up for sale due to purchasing another (misses wanted something newer) 4x4.
Make: Ford
Model: Explorer
Year: 1998
Engine: 4.0ltr V6
Tranny: Auto with O/D
Mileage: 114,500
Good Bits -
It's got a full leather interior that's in really good nick - inside is actually pretty spotless (and i will clean it before collected) It has a really cool Sony Blade CD/MP3 head unit thingies which pumps out some cool tunes. Had a new engine fitted at 74k miles which has had the Cam Chain Tensioners fix done (costs £2grand to do through ford) it's also got a brand new air flow meter, plugs, leads and air filter, oil filter and oil. New auto box fitted about 5,000 miles ago by Polo and myself with spanky new transmission oil. Tires are good and the engine pulls very well indeed (Matt Carter even called it "fast")
Has a proper tow bar with electrics and a self adjusting rear suspension, so when a load is placed in the back, the truck pumps up the rear suspension to level the load. It's a great bit of kit to tow with and will pull ANYTHING. (Note: I pulled 3 tons worth of Nissan Patrol back from Northampton on a trailer at 60mph on the motorway with NO dramas.
The best part of this vehicle is that it has a £2 grand’s worth of Romano RISN LPG system.
Bad Bits:
Unfortunately there are one or two things that need sorting on this car. I will list with the most detail possible
- Exhaust, is blowing at the mid pipe underneath the drivers seat. The bracket has also come off the rear silencer. It’s a very easy fix if your even half handy with a mig
- O/S/Front Droplink. The link that holds the anti roll bar to the bottom arm has sheared. It’s a £40 part and a bolt on bolt off fix. Unless you’re a retard you will struggle not to do this yourself. It’s a 4x4 so no need to jack it up.
- LPG system – it currently does not work and needs re-calibrating. It’s in perfect working order, but has been calibrated for this car with a knackered airflow meter. Cost’s about £90 to get done, or buy the dongle, lead and software for £45 off ebay and do it yourself. It’s a simple process
- Windscreen is cracked, will need replacing for MOT (scrappy ones are £35)
- Cosmetic Damage – Both front wings are scuffed, O/S/Rear Bumper/1/4 is scuffed as is door slightly (Missis hit a wall, not massive but would need painting)
- Drivers seat has no reclining handle.
- O/S/Rear lamp is slightly cracked but perfectly legal and working.
It’s a really good truck that would only need a little work to make right. I’ll let it go for £1000, but if anybody is interested let me know and we might be able to do a deal. I’ll take P/X’s parts, pretty much whatever. If it don’t go for £1000 then I’ll brake it up, engine and box are worth a grand on it’s own, but really can’ t be arsed to break it.
