Well this is practically my first car lol.. bought it when i was 18 for £1200 as an auto and now I'm not far from 21 and I've only just started making the car look how i want. I had no intention of buying a car, let alone an S14 which was my dream car. I just saw it on Pistonheads for £1600 (i think), saw how immaculate it was, completely standard auto, been babied all its life and was low milage t&t... and cheap!
2 days later it was mine! I got the money, emailed the guy who owned it and arranged to view it. Although just hours before I got there, some asses went by and threw paint stripper all over it. Ruining the immaculate paint. I'd already fallen in love with it being a dream car and my first proper car, so the owner let me have it for £1200 and gave me a few extra panels for free.
Got it home and like a typical teen with their first car i covered it in stickers. No real idea what i wanted to do with it but i figured i wasn't gonna put money into it until the tax had run out, as i couldn't afford to buy parts and run it at the same time being a student with 2 part time jobs
you can't really see much paint damage from here thankfully, other than the damage on the plastics.. but you can see how clean it is otherwise.
So when the tax ran out i registered it as SORN and began buying.. still having no idea what i wanted to do with it.
I did know that i didn't wanna rock any big fat kit on it as i like the standard front bumper, so i bought an SRBPower Type 1 splitter just to fetch it down a bit
This was my first attempt at painting too, i don't think i did too bad of a job to be fair
After that i was out of ideas so I decided to leave the exterior for a while and i got myself some shiny HSD's! As well as a few other minor things like braided lines and such. But the added lows and natural camber was now enough for me to think i was cool.
Not long after that Craddy tagged me in a post for a rocket bunny style wing that some weird sheep stalker guy called Alekzander Law was selling. Without hesitation i bought it as it would make me look even cooler compared to the local car enthusiasts in their lupo's and as long as they didn't hear the flat gear changes from the auto box, i expected them to think i had a sick ass drift car
getting used to this whole painting lark!
After that i lost one of my jobs and the spending stopped. The car was left for months whilst i finished my mechanics course at college and i looked for another job. Countless people told me to sell it and start again another time as i was wasting a good car. But it was my car to waste and it wasn't exactly my fault, so i kept it. For the sake of doing something with it i decided to put my artistic flare into good use and pulled the horrible wood effect stereo trim off
prepped it all up and felt a girly touch was needed
pink on its own wasn't enough so i got handy with a paint brush i had from doing an art course and pretty much made a custom design on paper before applying it to the trim by hand.. even put my nick name on it haha
Next thing on my to do list was to restore the damaged bootlid and smooth it over.. all ready for the respray i had planned in my head until i was told by most good painters it was gonna cost £4,000 - £5,000 due to the paintstripper going down to the metal
Alot of friends were telling me it was pointless but i was enjoying learning and having all my firsts, like owning my first car, my first attempts at working on it, my first time having a go at doing minor cosmetic work and so on
Then i got myself a different set of wheels which i had planned on using as skid wheels eventually, but as i couldn't afford many parts i decided to have a go at wheel restoration seems they looked worse for wear!
just a quick placement to see if i liked black on black
fitment isn't fantastic but it's better LOL needed spacers to clear the calipers though 20mm on the front and 25mm on the rear as i planned on having over fenders on the rear but i've changed my mind now
Then there was another pause in working on it. Then my ex tried blackmailing me into signing it over to him so i left it with no wheels on it, the diff missing and no fuel so no one would bother taking it hahaha. Months went by (around 7) and i ended up moving back in at my mums, still only 1 part time job. Eventually got another job where i'm promised lots of hours so recently i've been spending on parts like a mad woman!
Wish list
Theres more but thats more of a "need it list".
My wish list is too long to write down but i've done a mock up of what my plans are, there's alot of mixed views about it but i've spent the last 2 years planning this car. Alot i'm keeping to myself as I like to go over ideas before making the usual "first time modding" mistakes that all us young'ens make lmao
For now though, heres a taster. As the car won't look much different for a while until i'm done with the drive
If anyone has ideas for wheels, i'd appreciate your opinions and thoughts on what wheels to go for
