For Sale is my N reg LDV recovery truck,
I spent ages around about this time last year looking around for a suitable truck to carry my drift car to events on. There is so much rubbish out there when your looking at trucks around this price range and age. I looked at a fair few before i found this one for sale via a car club im a member of. Like me the guy who had it before me used it for his race car. So this truck as not spent its life picking up scrap cars etc. Its the turbo version witch is a huge plus at it actually has a fair bit of go and has no issues keeping 60-70mph loaded on the motorway. My car is very low but i have no major issues getting it on and off just some clever placement of wooden planks as the ramps are fairly short. Im selling up as i have been given use of my company van to tow my car, so i no longer have any need for it. It has recently ran out of MOT and will probably need some work to get a new one...
There are a few points to note good and bad please read very carefully, im going to be totally honest.
The front bumper has a crack on one side purely cosmetic.
The paint on the cab is not fantastic there is some rust coming through here and there / the odd dent of scratch nothing major.
The step on the cab will require some repair soon, not sure if that would fail the MOT but its not a bad job to do.
The windscreen has a few chips in but passed the last MOT fine.
The chassis looks to be in very good nick no signs of rust.
It has an electric winch that works fine but the control box has a crack in it.
The bonnet catch has stuck open needs freeing up.
Bonnet catch needs a new cable or repairing as the handle has snapped off (held by the safety catch atm).
Both doors have rust showing at the bottom.
The engine has a rather bad oil leak, i always check the oil before starting and keep it topped up.
The gearbox selects all gears and works as you would expect.
The clutch has never slipped and bites fairly low down.
All the lights work.
These trucks use a steering box so there is a fair bit of play in the steering this is normal for these LDV`s.
The brakes work well.
Engine starts first time every time, pulls well can hear the turbo working, no excessive smoke, uses a bit of oil. Has never used water or overheated.
Comes with a tyre rack that is removable if required.
The bed is in good nick, could benefit from a coat of paint in places.
Ill add more pics and ill take some measurements of the bed in the next few days. This truck is by no means perfect, it will need a few little bits doing for the MOT i expect. But it has served me very well since i have had it. Any questions just ask.
