My Royal Python ~ Monte & Viv

I am selling my royal python who is roughly 6 months old and is a good size for its age. I dont know whether its a boy or girl because i haven't had it checked. I feed it medium mice about once every 5-7 days, it always strikes and constricts. It has also shed often so there is no problems there. It also comes with a small tank which should be used up to 9mths of age, the heat mat, water bowl and cave are included as well as a bag of coconut husk. Im asking for £80 as it is handled every now and then but im still wary of touching it, it has never bitten or tried to bite me though. Im selling it not because i want to but because i've moved to a place where i cant have pets and i need it gone before the landlord notices!
here are some pics.

it needs a stat to control the heat to stop the mat getting to hot and burning it.

I'm having to sell my boa constrictor-my other half hates it lol.

Good luck selling him/her - Royals make a good first time owners snake.

thats pretty shame i can't have it my misses is scared shitless of em but i love em still trying to talk her into letting me get a tarantula

and me but got no idea where to get one from...:wack:

snakes a bit much for me.:o

snakes are mint lol i keep alot of burmese pythons and royals:D spiders are fun till they bite you it feels like being stung by a wasp then smacking the sting with a hammer a few times

can never be bothered to take pics but heres one of my burms that i had to hand stalking the cat lol

lol-she's not even fully grown yet ;)

I have a peruvian red tail, bloody expensive one lol. she is stunning though..really pissed that I can't keep her, but if you want to make a really physically strong guy crawl on his knees.....snakes are a good first call :)

i know shes about half way there ive been a keeper of pythons and boas for the last 19 years  i recently sold all my true guyanan redtails not worth as much as you may think

lol that burmese is really nice snakes are cool but you got to be comfortable with them. At first i was quite nervous and flinchy but im fine now. as for the stat the mat isnt powerfull enough to get hot enough to harm monte and it isnt in direct contact with the actuall tank. but you would need one when you change tanks. anyone interested in MONTE? lol

mate it needs a stat that mat will penetrate enough heat to be a possible problem like i said ive been a keeper for 19 years trust me

free bump

agreed with the stat/mat comment..you'd be suprised how hot they get, snakes should absorb heat from above (i.e the sun or equiv), heat mats obviously produce a heat source from below, the underside of the snake (no matter what breed) does not have a high threshold and the can literally cook themselves when they bury under the bedding to lay "on" the heat mat.

Red tails have come down alot in price agreed-try finding a peruvian red tail... they are not as easy to find. ;)

Okay i got this setup from a royal python breeder who have there own reptile shop where i live which has been going for a very long time so they know what they are doing in that respect. The heat mat is under the tank and the tank has a 1cm gap from the mat so theres no direct contact also the cave has a floor in it so it isnt on the tank hence no heat in the cave. the heat mat also only heats one half of the tank to have a warm and cool side. The coconut husk that i use doesnt get hot anyway and monte has been in it ever sonce i had him. I have a good knowledge of reptiles and i know that when i have to get a larger tank for my royal that i will have to buy a ceramic heater and guard and a habistat as i did all this before for my old pet but my royal doesnt need it yet as hes still not big enuff to upgrade as royals are agraphobic. thank you for your comments but i have decided not to sell and keep him as theres no real interest

love snakes and used to have a brown house snake and a rock python for a short period of time when i was in zimbabwe... wish i had the spare cash as i would have had it off you . Only issue is the chick has her hands full with one snake so no idea how she would have coped with another ;)

:eek:frick, i've never seen the fasination with weird pets like snakes, lizards and spiders, i think pets should be soft cuddly affectionate things (i sound like a frickin girl lol) i wouldn't even have a dog that could take my arm off if it decided it wanted to
