Need help on a car!

So I'm looking to buy a Nissan 200sx. I've found two, one is a 1998 model and one of them is a 1996 Nissan SX SE model. Due to it being in the USA it's a Nissan Sentra right? I don't understand the whole S13/14/15. For an S13 is the USA models I'm looking at suppose to be the same?

I've read that there are Silvia's (Japanese version of SX models?)but they are not the same as USA models. The closes you can get is a 240sx correct?

A friend of my recommended a Toyota Corolla, I think it's an AE86 model? I haven't found on in the USA so I'm assuming it's a right side driver.

I've also seen some of the Civic hatchbacks but I just keep reading how terrible they are.

I've researched this a ton today and I think I'm overloading my brain with information.

Lastly, I've read Ford Focus, and Subaru Impreza STi's are amazing but I think those are more for rally than drifting since they're AWD. I would have to lock the mid differentials or something like that? Sorry, I've never worked with imports. I have experience in basic repairs and can fix a transmission but I have a lot of areas where I am weak.

Looking at Ford Sierra's. I read some are bad but no real specifics. What should I look for?

Lastly, is it worth getting any of these cars in automatic? If I could get one automatic and one manual I think I could get something going for my fiance.

Do most people use body kits? I've never had experience with these.

I'm looking for a base car to start with that I can build upon. Thank you in advance!

I appreciate the feedback on the civic. Can you divulge any more information on the other questions in my post? Right now it's looking like I need to get a 240sx because that's the only model made in America from the Nissan line. Please inform me if I am wrong. The Corolla AE86's are hard to come by, and all the ones I've found seem to be overpriced, or is it because it's now considered a classic?

Dude, just go for a BMW 328. there must be shitloads over there and reasonably cheap I'm guessing.

As for the Nissan, yes the 240sx is your version of the s13, s14.

Also AE86's would be the Corolla SR5 over there. I've always see plenty of them in the states on youtube videos and stuff.

BMWs are expensive in the USA compared to here.

Just get a 240sx and be done with it. Half the other cars you mention, including the Sentra, are front wheel drive.

So is the 328 a 3 series right which isn't he same as a M3?

Thank you so very much for that simplistic info! I'm dead serious! I guess I was overlooking some of the information! thank you!
