Trying to find a suitable place to post this..... I have a car which was imported by someone else but not registered. I have some documents for it customs etc etc and a Northern ireland mot. Got my v55 to fill in and seen I might need a conformity of registration? Plus I might have to take it to a DVLA office. Trying to find one is almost impossible then other information say there are no offices due to cut backs. I really need some help in what's needed and what I need to do. Drop me a pm and I'll explain my current issues and if I can have some guidance etc. As much info there is on the net, there is abit of conflicting information and it's a little daunting for a first timer.

Thanks in advance

What car is it? If it's over 10 years old you don't need a cert of conformity.
There are no longer any dvla offices, you have to register the car by post.

Firstly. Have filled in the 'notice of vehicle arrival' online? If so and you have payed any vat due if any then you can proceed to the registration process.

You will need a valid mot, insurance policy covering the car at the time of registration, and you will have to send a cheque for the appropriate fee for the tax to be applied to the car and the £55 fee for registration.

On the v55, fill out what you can with regards to make/model vehicle type etc. All the rest can be left blank as it will not apply if you do not need a cert of conformity.

I think, that's about it.
Unfortunately the information available is quite miss leading as to what, where, how to register a car.

I recently imported my skyline 'unregistered' from southern ire. And had similar problems.
If you do get stuck, phone the d.v.l.a. I found them very helpful and will tell you all you need to know. Far better than the information you will get from here

Good luck
