New Member from Los Angeles with Big Plans

Wassup guys! Robert "metsamor" Torosyan here. Happy to be a member of this forum. I am the owner of Instagram page @electricshift. I currently drive my parents car. But very soon I will be buying my first car. I have spent many countless hours thinking about this and deciding and everything is coming down to two options. 1. a 95' Mazda RX7 which will be a track car, or 2. a 89'-94' Silvia hatchback which will be an all out drift missile. I honestly dont know what to choose as a first car. The RX7 will give me alot of trouble im sure, but it will turn heads everywhere. On the other hand, the S13 will be an easy car to learn and I wont have to worry about it cuz the parts are dirt cheap. Give me some opinions guys! Thanks

Don't be fooled, 200sx looks simple but breaks down a lot.. RX7 wil run always, as long as you put oil in it !
I love the 200sx but they are anything but reliable..
S14 are much better than the s13 thought

Hey robfd3s, having owned 4 200sx's 3 s13's and 1 s14 zenki and know of people with rotary (the noise drool) rx7's personally I would sway to the 200sx way for reliability and cheapness. I personally prefer the s13 above any other 200sx but that is personal opinion. My current one has almost 200k miles on the clock on the CA18DET and hasn't let me down apart from once through a snap cambelt but that was my fault for not changing it sooner other than that with previous ones were just rust issues and such but were nothing but reliable and they were drifted here and there. At the end of the day both are old cars so will require love both are awesome cars but it's a no brainer for a 1st car I would go silvia just to learn on then move up to an RX7, but that is just my opinion.

Either way, it's down to maintenance if I could I would get an RX7 as it's my dream car but they aren't as cheap to run IMO overall.

As you said the silvia would be a much better choice as your first car to learn on than an RX7 but if you can get it!.
