Hey Mint, Thanks! You must be @minto_san off instagram, you may know me as @sidewayzz.
That's cool! Must arrange a meet up or something when you're over. Also try "trade me" it's a local online auctions site so you'll find some bargains on there too.
Cops.. Haha, there's good cops then there's the complete a**hole ones, if you're wanting to slam something and put wheels on it really depends on how long it takes for you to get caught. Few years back I rolled around in the S14 for 1.5 years before I got caught.
If you do get caught here's how it plays out, In New Zealand for all the modifications you do to your car they have to be certified by an authorized person. This includes wheels, suspension, tyres, engine swaps etc.. If you don't have the cert or you do and it's not what it says on the plate eg: ride height (measured from the centre of the wheel to the guard in mm) and you get caught, you'll get a green sticker which basically means go and get your car back within the cert requirements and come back for a re check and if all good they'll take the sticker off. If you don't have a cert plate at all you'll get a nice bright pink sticker slapped on your windscreen which means you have no cert, you can't drive the car so you'll have to get it towed back and fully fixed, certified, checked then back on the road
Edit: Fines would be, Driving an un road worthy vehicle and the fine for that is around $200 if i recall correctly. Pink/ Green sticker recheck is around $100 and a new cert costs around $550
