Hello there,

Just joined up recently to see what this is all about. I'm a member on various forums due to ownership and things like that. I've always been interested in drifting. Various films and competitions have spurred that on more. Also, I'm a big fan of car shows and regularly attend them when I can. I'm located in West Yorkshire in the UK. There's not much around here and the nearest course for drifting (to my knowledge) is Santa Pod.

I don't have a RWD car at the moment. I own a 1.4 Turbo Grande Punto. Well I say I own it, but unfortunately it sold last night and is going to be picked up tonight! :( All due to getting another job within the motor trade and not needing a second car (yet!!).

Seeing the Lassa Drift Team alonside Slide Motorsport and Skidrisk last night really made me want to get involved! Also them, long days at work scouring AutoTrader and PistonHeads doesn't help either! Anyway, my names Josh, I'm 19 from Leeds. I'm currently thinking of saving up some ££££ buying myself a little RWD car, preferably JAP and under the name of Nissan (love them.) declaring it SORN while the years of ridiculous insurance premiums go by (probably until I'm 21) while changing bits and bats to make it perfect for myself.

So hello, I hope you're all well. Any information would be a help (literally any) and I'll see you around!!

Feck the Nissans unless u wanna be forever chasing the rot. Been there done that with 2 s13's. Go for a nice Toyota, like a Soarer, chaser, etc

I've also been looking at Lexus IS200 there was one advertised not long back with 34,000 miles on (CatD) at £1000. Which to be honest for a first rwd car isn't too bad, I'd love to own a nissan dont get me wrong but I kbnow that theres quite a bit of upkeep on them, also quite like MR2's

Avoid mrPoo like the plague. I bought a mint, 60k miles one few years back and engine blew, as it's in the wrong place, which also means you won't be getting much drifting done, with the engine weighting the back end down. They are an utter misery. IS200 my mate had one, there a but underpowered. I had an is300, which is the 3 litre version. Only thing with the 300 tho is they are all auto, but autos do drift well imo
