hi all

been into track, hill climbs and sprints but really fancy trying drifting as Driftland is only 15 mins drive from me, so my question is what Beemer do i go for ?

i ve got my heart set on a compact but what one ?

1. E46 325, can get one local for £1800
2. E36 316 with the 1800/1900 engine £ 500 to £1000

does the E36 have enough grunt to drift or should i go for the 325 ?

i can always start small and convert the e36 to a 6cyl later or should i just go straight to 325 and save hastle later on ?

any help is much appreciated in helping me choose

many thanks

Finlay

Hi Finlay, I have a storage facility next to Driftland and deal in a lot of e36's give me a shout if I can help
Cheers Neil

Start with something cheap, a e36 323,325 or 328 can be got as cheap as £500, or £1k for decent 1 with some mods. Forget about a 316, not enough power to pull ya foreskin back nevermind do a skid.

No matter which one, get an 6 cylinder. If the engine is right, the e36 gives you more feedback and it's a little bit cheaper to mod.

PS: I still don't get the UK prices really. The e46 is lots more expensive here in Germany. For the price of an e46 318i you can easily get an e36 325i.
