Hi guys im adam and ive been around on here for a while now but just looking. Just brought my first s14! Ive had a few e30's and loved them but wanted to go jap and feel that turbo lovin :) Im only 21 but managed to get insured for not much more than my e30 which is good.

Some of you might recognise it as its had a couple of owners on here i think and been to pod a few times?

Really happy with it, has a few very light scabs of rust on the sills and boot floor which im gonna rub down and hammerite some time this week.

Im doing a long (6hr) drive on friday and theres a couple of problems i need to solve, The diff is welded and im using it as a daily so its quite annoying, if anyone has a open diff and better still can help me out fitting it it would much appreciated as my tools are at uni! also if anyone has any 18" tyres that will fit these 9.5J wheels then give me a shout :)

The ride is pretty awful as its all set up to skid so im going to soften it up a bit when i get a chance. Anyway let me know what you think.

Cheers

Adam

Please, dont swap the welder for an open!
Thats like swapping a blow job from kelly brooke for an anal fisting session from susan boyle, It just doesnt make sense

True true but im not going drifting and this is a daily and only car, crabbing round even a slight corner isnt much fun after a while :) Appreciate your point tho mate, ill keep the welded one for when i get some money together for skidding :)

Because theres a lot of knowledge on here about s14's . . . jesus im only asking some questions, not exactly being made very welcome. I will take it drifting again just need to sort it for some road driving for now!

probably better suited to sxoc mate, welded diffs are fine, you get used to it and it not bad, i hate driving without a welded diff now

Yup, dont remove the welder, seriously, your testicles will shrivell up like prunes. Welders make driving fun.

Buy a standard diff for road use, a shimmed standard diff will be lovely for a comfy daily, and still fun for the odd bit of 'intense driving' then when a drift day comes up you can swap for your welder. Easy enough to do, ditch your diff cooler too as its useless and will speed up the diff swap in the future. There a fine line between a fun road car and a race/drift car, get it wrong and you'll soon hate it if you drive it everyday. Horses for courses as they say.

You'll find out that people aren't afraid to voice their opinions on here, just ignore it.

And welcome! :)
