Hi guys
I'm Harriet from Brighton and I currently drive a mk1 mx5. I'm hoping to get on some drift days over the summer in my 5 and see how I manage on track as I've already had a few sketchy experiences on the road! :p Really hoping drifting is something I can grasp as ideally I would like to get something that is full drift spec but need to learn to handle what I got first! Anyways any help and advice on where to start is always appreciated!

Welcome pal!

Im looking for an mx5 right now... they are good beginner cars for drifting from what everyone says!

I would also recommend getting a welded diff or a torsen if you still want it drive-able on the street, a lot of people have their own opinions on driving welded diffs as a daily so search around. Obviously along with Coilovers and spare wheels get a bucket seat, harness and most important of all momentum is ur friend in the mx5 :)

Already on coilys not so sure about the welded diff on a daily though! Thinking of drift what you brung at pod to get started rather than organised drift days with schools?? Or would I benefit more from something like that?

I think that bit is all down to you. If you've got a drift ready car and confident enough to throw it about then go to Santa pod I'm sure some of the people there or members on here would happily show you some pointers. I did a taster drift session and well it was fun but you would get way more seat time at Santa pod and I didn't have a mx5 at the time :P
