Hey guys im from NZ and new to all this so just got myself a r32 gtst with an rb20det in it needing work, to start me on my way. I Pulled motor apart and found the pistons are shot has been detonating so gotta do a full rebuild.
Hopefully these threads are able to help me and because im new to rebuilding motors too would be awesome to be able to ask people that have experience, i do have helpers but more interested in learning too.
Currently deciding whether to spend heaps $$$ on a 25det or to save hassles making car road legal with that motor and just sticking to the 20, dropping a new motor in or forging the other one.
Are you guys able to say which motor would u be more keen on to buy if i was gonna sell car in couple of years?

my car is very tidy for an ol 1989 and im keen to keep it as an investment for the future as they are slowly hard to come by over here, getting written off all the time
