newish face from East Yorks

Hiya guys, been around some of the forums for a while and had the intention of getting into drifting about 7-8 years ago haha. Done lots of track days in the past but FINALLY signed up for my first drift day and I will be going to the Santa Pod DWYB day on wednesday next week.

Had quite a few S13's and R32's in the past but ive currently got an E36 325 and I must say although I do miss the power from previous cars, I find the BMW is really fun to drive and I love the fact that I can just turn up to a track, give it hell for the whole day and it just keeps on going. Did 5 trackdays last year including Spa and the Ring and it never missed a beat. Ill put up a thread in the projects section for anyone thats interested :)

Hope to see some of you in the near future.

James

Hiya mate, I just saw your post in the Events section. If you add Humberside Drift Scene on Facebook you can keep in the loop with whats going on in the area. Guy called Tony runs it, I got met him the other week, proper sound guy :)

Where abouts you from? What car you got?

Yeah be nice to meet some new people and trying and get a regular venue in this area sorted too.

I'm in East Yorkshire, quite a few here now it seems.
Guessing you're from hull, knowing Tony ect. We were part of the humberslide guys.

Yeah Im from Hull too mate. Ive been meaning to get into the scene for ages but was just having too much fun doing trackdays, really looking forward to it though.

I added them on fb a while back and messaged him the other night. Hopefully pop over to show my face and see a few things. I'm from Market Weighton, don't expect you to know it lol. 25ish miles west of hull towards York if that helps.

I've been told by a few others that he's a sound guy. Not got a ride ATM unless you count the company van haha! Thinking of getting a MX5 but waiting for some funds to come through.

Would be great to have something in Yorkshire rather then having to drive to Teeside or Buxton etc. But nothing came about of it last time people tried?

But ATM I'm just looking to pest someone into showing me where to start technique wise and spannering on a car wise, as I'm the biggest novice going.

Yeah I know Market Weighton, good scrap yard there lol.

Tony tried setting up a few days, but one thing and another it never got off the ground unfortunately, we had a few good days but due to insurance/places to drift.

Navigate by scrappies, best way ;)

Ahh right, well hopefully see some people soon, even if it's just to see how many heads there are in the area and show my face.

Yep i know market weighton, i grew up there and my parents still live there :) Also used to work in Holme upon Spalding moor, lots of scrap yards there too haha.

Mx5 will be a great car to learn in, cheap reliable and fun to drive, i was tempted by the turbo one for sale on here but at 6'6" im not sure how well i will fit in it haha.
