Good evening,
Firstly, thank you for your patience. This is my first post, I don't usually post - in this case I have looked around for hours and no one seems to have an answer. I recently got my first proper project car, I was going mad at home not being able to have a real routine due to lock down so I decided to do something meaningful and start chipping away at my bucket list of things to do before I die.
I have a Silvia PS13 2JZ project. The first thing I need to do is be able to steer the car so I can move it around without by pulling and pushing on the wheels myself. The car came as a completely bare rolling shell. I have the steering rack, front subframe and part of the steering shaft that connects to the steering wheel.
However, I do not have the middle part of the shaft that connects the two together. I am unable to upload pictures of my car as I haven't taken any at the moment but here is a picture to lend some perspective (see below, just a pic from the internet to show the middle part I am talking about). I need the rest of the steering shaft, joints and bolts to fit them properly.
I have been looking around and I believe the OEM Nissan parts have been discontinued, I have been asking sources who are breaking Silvias and 200sx but they are either not available or too expensive for an old rusty part. Can't seem to find aftermarket support for what I am looking for as well.
My question is, can I find what I am looking for from other plentiful Nissans at the wreckers? All I need is the middle part and ideally this would save me a lot of money if I can find a strong and simple fix.
Or, should I go for a complete aftermarket set up? If this is the case, who provides the best parts that can "bolt on" with relative ease. AND, I want to be able to use my NARDI Classic Steering wheel too haha.
