Northern drift championship teesside autodrome 24/25th march

i agree, talent. some folk can chuck <200hp around like their life depends on it yet somebody with 3 million hp could spin at every corner.

plus with me having a v8 and no skill (eg cant link all the track) i would probably get bored and not do it if i was in with the semi pros.

granted if i did one race weekend and did well then came back and got put in semi pros cause i was managing to link the track then fair enough but im kack lol

I think the best idea still has to be a qualifying day before comp day. Based on how good each individual is determines their class. I know there is the chance of people sand bagging on that day to get in the class below where they should be. However if they magically come to life on comp day then they get moved up a class for the rest of the day and series if applicable.

Just my 2 bobs worth even though I wont even be there!!!! :)

If I had £1 for every time I've told somebody that since the beginning of December I think i'd have more money than the biggest ever lottery winner :')

So after some thought and reading a lot of comments i have come to the conclusion it must come down to talent not car power and their mods .(which is what i said first but was over powered by david and my dad)
So do we leave it up to yourselves to "class your self" when you sign in you say which class you think you should be in and if your seen to be better move you up during the competition day?
judge you the day before or even during qualification then again if your seen to be better move you up to the next class during the comp ?
callum feel free to do a proper poll .

Why not get David and/or others to judge during a practice day, who should be in which class?
Keep ppl in which ever group they are assigned for the season, then next year up them if needed.

Depends how the classes are gonna be decided?

Amateur - people who cant link the track without straightening or spinning
Semi Pro - people who can link the whole track - inc people with BDC license who have not competed
Pro - those with a BDC/JDM license who have competed within the BDC/JDM

Maybe like BDC, top 4 each round get to compete in next class up aswell, so top 4 semi pro's in round 1, would compete in semi and pro's in round 2, and top 4 amateurs in round 1 would compete in amateur and semi's in round 2.

To be honest i think its fine to class yourself if you are a pro but put yourself in semi pro your just a tool! And it will stick out like a sore thumb!!!!!!

People should just be honest about things

just out of interest as i'm contemplating this. as a edc driver ( so bdc super pro licence equivalent ) in a car without roll cage, i can't compete in this?

without getting embroiled in a huge debate the bdc licence rules state that anyone who has done edc is eligible for a super pro licence in 2011.

i assume this will continue in 2012

How is EDC the same as BDC super pro?

its not karl who drives the green jzx100 edc is bdc semi pro. maybe a couple of edc drivers are super pro but not all of them and thats not a dig at enyone or a start of bdc v edc slagging match before enyone starts bitching

I can think of a couple people in EDC that would get made to look shit in pro...lol

Back to your comment though, i doubt twinning will be allowed with out cage because of insurance purposes.....

Would be a shame to have to miss out, but I think you'd be way too good for Semi Pro here.
I guess we need to know from Jen/David if a cage is really needed in Pro and what the twinning would involve.
Would you be happy to compete in Pro twinning without a cage?
