NZ 180SX. Dumb enough to start, stubborn enough to finish.

This is my 1992 Nissan 200sx (New Zealand version of 180sx)

I brought it in 2006, it was a ca18det auto and in rough shape but factory.

I brought a crashed 180sx and swapped the red top sr20det and manual transmission over.

I then went about teaching myself how to paint cars (steep learning curve), put a full vertex bodykit on it and rolled rear guards. I painted one panel at a time then masked it up and painted the next one, I was still learning so didnt want to make the same mistake all over the car, was like unwrapping a Christmas present at the end.

I have had this car for 15 years and have been through a lot with it. I am going to strip it back to a chassis and rebuild it.

I have the car at my place now and have started cleaning it out with a waterblaster, its looking a lot better but still a lot of work to go

Damn, that damage is gutting. It looked great on the Work VSMX. I admire the home paint job, I'm doing mine myself too. Keep us posted!
