Offset rack spacers

Looking for some advice, I've lowered my steering rack to accommodate an engine swap and was wondering if it was possible use the offset rack spacers to compensate.

I.e. can they be rotated 90 degrees to lower the track rod rather adjusting front to back?

bump....When i say lower i mean RAISE the track rod to compensate for the now LOWER steering rack...

The rack has a slotted end and the spacers are cut so they fit into this to avoid them spinning.

I wouldn't think there is a problem cutting a slot at 90degrees on the rack so that you can mount them however. Probably a bitter idea than cutting the tab off as they might spin.

I'll take the track rod and dust boot off one side of the rack to take a look what is there, thanks!

Out of interest, do most people just run without a dust boot when they have installed the offset spacers? Seems like they would get caught in the ribs of the boot as the rack extends?!

Take the dust boot off and all will be clear.

Definitely do run the dust boot or you could end up damaging the steering rack seal or the tie rod joint. Driftworks also sell extended boot covers which seem to work fine.

Boom... all is clear....

Any idea what the offset is, I.e how many mm of realignment this will help with?
