Hey guys, give me ur toughts on om606, its and merc diesel engine, 3.0 litres, it has 130kw, should be enough for drifting right ? would it be too expensive to maintaint? thx for help.

hey arthur welcome in dw i think better and more easy to build get a sr20 with trans
u can make a lot power with this engine

130kw, whats that, 175bhp? That's plenty of power for drifting, and being a diesel it'll throw out plenty of torque from low rpm too. Also just looked on ebay and there are plenty of complete om606 engines with turbos, ecus etc attached for £400-£600.

End of the day it'll boil down to personal preference, having 243lbft of torque at 1600rpm will make for easy skids, but you'll be shifting a lot as diesels have a much smaller rev band to play with.

Those engines are fucking awesome. Get bigger jets or whatever it is for the diesel fuel pump and strap a massive turbo on and say hello to 400bhp+. The Scandinavians love them

yes, this teemus merc isalso 606 , but its built on a pretty pro level, but its pretty sure that om606 is enough, bigger turbine and bigger fuel flow to the engine will give more kw without any effort. for the chassis im plannig to get w201 merc.
