Hey! I decided to ask the most important question when it comes to the art of
d r i f t i n g.
I'm quite young as well, still a few years away from even getting a permit, but, since open diffs are pretty bad for drifting, as a lot of people I ask say start on a closed diff, which to me makes no sense, because I thought learning stock is always first, which do I do?
I'm not too into heavily modified cars, I hate that mainstream BN sports, Cambergang, steerlock and toe angle kits, I prefer 90s and 80s style JDM, and I know back then welding diffs wasn't huge or anything, and LSDs weren't as easy or cheap to get ye hands on, so, For modifying I was thinking;
*Wangan style wing
*Hopefully SSR Formula Meshes, but those are very expensive
*Custom handbrake and dials.
*Suspension kit
*Air filter
Was about it for me, I had SOME experience with drifting, which was with a 240sx with a welded diff, but I would much prefer the old-school style, I mean, I don't want to drift FD style. If you watched the 90s touge drifting videos, you'd know what I mean, it's hard to explain.
But the other question I had was, where do I start modifying a "drift car" Which is more like a 90s style touge car.
I always thought;oil chance suspension , maybe driveshaft, engine tune,camber angle, and then welded diff, IDK, I wouldn't say I'm new to the JDM scene, but am still learning as I go.
