Gauging interest in my Daily, a 1990 Peugeot 205 XS, although I like to think of it as a 205 GTi with a 1.6 beating carb’d engine. The previous owner seems to have spent a rather lot of effort and time into making this car in a very impressive example
-953XX Miles on the clock
- 5 Owners (two of those were a couple who have had it since 97 and one was a Peugeot main dealer who racked up a whooping 2500miles in it)
- Tax – July 09
- MOT – September 09
- Sunroof
- Central Locking
-An extensive set of receipts and records spanning more than a decade
- GTi Trims
- Minty 309 Goodwood leather interior with nearly new Black carpets, Steering Wheel and GTi Door cards . No rips, tears, loose stitching or extensive wear.
- 15” 309 Goodwood alloy wheels (lightly kerbed) wrapped in 4 – 5mm of Low profile Yoko A539 Tyres
- Engine modifications that I know of are a European spec 1.3 Rallye Cam and CSC 4 – 2 -1 Manifold (which has apparently seen less than 1200 miles since new) has the car putting down some pretty impressive power for a 1360cc unit.
- Parts replaced by the previous owner within the last year –
1) New battery
2) New alternator
3) New lights all round (original Peugeot valeo headlights, indicators, rear lights) and original Magnetti Marelli front driving lights
4) New brake lines and pipes
5) New Peugeot centre box and rear box.
6) Engine mounts all round, including gear box mounts.
7) New HT leads etc.
8) New BOSCH aero wipers front and rear
9) New Peugeot blank side badges
10) New interior mats (original GTi mats supplied in good condition)
11) New front and rear washer jets
12) New wiper arms front and back
13) New Peugeot Lion badge to front grill, new "Gti" badge to rear, New "205" badge to rear, new "Peugeot" badge to rear.
14) New upper strut brace
15) Service with airfilter, oil filter etc etc.
16) New Valeo clutch
17) New CSC Marmelite 4-2-1 exhaust manifold
18) New Peugeot carburettor rebuild kit
19) New parcelshelf mounts only as I had some spare
Before that I'm told the rear drums were rebuilt and brembo discs, plus Boge shocks were fitted all around in 06.
- A lovely neighbor of mine has left a 1.5 inch dent in the bonnet, while there is a weird dent on the right rear ¼ panel/boot which seems to have been left by a 4x4. Paint blemishes aren’t bad (to be honest, I’ve never really looked for nor found any) but I imagine there are some. Could probably do with a very good polish as some panels are going a bit orange, although I will try and do this myself. Rust? This car doesn’t know what that is .
I’ve only had it for coming onto 4 months now, but I have already found that daily commuting around London without Power Steering is a bit of an arse, although I will man up and live with it if I do not get the sort of money that I am after.
Let’s say I’m after £950, will listen to offers and Part exchanges (with a bit of cash either way) ideally for
A MK3 Toyota Supra, E30 316i Touring or any E36, but will consider anything mildly interesting.
Any questions or picture requests, just ask.
