They've been a while in the making/testing and tweaking, but the Driftworks poly subframe bushes are now in stock

They look very much like this:

and we're well happy with them :)

Julian's had some fitted for a few months now and they really lock the subframe nice and tight

Ooooh nice, how many will I need to do the back end bearing in mind I'll have new adjustable camber arms by then.

Dave, no they don't but we'll try and get a writeup at some point. There's a handy writeup from Don Carter here :)
http://www.sxoc.co.uk/site/static/13subframe.php

The fitting basically goes:

Take subframe off car (or you can just drop it 6" if you have ramps and gearbox jacks handy)
burn out the rubber bit of the old bushes with an oxycetaline torch
use a hacksaw to make a cut into the metal collar surrounding the old bushes
Belt a chisel/screwdriver along the cut you've just made to remove the old collar
press the new poly bushes into place
insert the metal insert into the bushes
refit subframe making sure the large washers go on the bottom so the bushes are sandwiched safely between the washers and the body of the car.
do it all back up

Jord,
just to clarify, these are the bushes that hold the subframe to the main body of the car, they're big buggers and you need 4 so that's how many you get if you buy a set :) We do have the other arm bushes in poly ready and waiting too :)
If you've got adjustable camber and toe arms and want arm bushes you'll need:
4 rear lower arm bushes
8 of the other arm bushes (most of which go in the hub end)

Hope this helps

They look cool, if i didn't have powerflex one's i'd have some :wack:
Just another thing, for people comparing prices, Powerflex one's are quoted in pairs and you need 2 pairs to do a whole subframe. But the price on these ones seems to be the whole kit (ie 2 pairs). :shamless:

Are these any good for a road car or are they too hard? I don't mind tightening up the rear a bit but don't want the car to be too track biased

They do tighten things up nicely, it's not bangy and horrible, but you will definatly notice the difference.. It depends on other things like if you have a plated diff or a visceous etc too :)
