Pretty Extensive Question...

To put it blunt, I am looking for a car, a car to daily to and from work and college and whatnot, but obviously I am on this forum post seeking help, because I want to also have fun with this car, drift and take it to events and track days or whatever, I am new to all of this and simply put, want a *comfortable* daily that can swing the back-end out while looking nice. some specs and my thoughts I'll list below.

I stress that I want to be comfortable, I come from my first car being a 1993 celica that had skin cancer and no roof, a-lot of dings and a-lot of rattle, annoyance, and just uncomfortable-ness. I am *SICK* of it.

I've been looking and considering the following cars.
-240/280/300/350Z
-Foxbody Mustang GT

My budget it pretty locked at around $10,000 the lower the better obviously for mods, but I could most-likely stretch to maybe $12,000 at most.

Keeping all that in mind, I'm just at a loss of uncertainty and second guessing myself, hence why I've came seeking help of people that are experienced, I'm open to literally anything, again this cars purpose is going to be majority daily, hence the comfort part. I understand the purpose of stripping the interior or having a "missile" but I'm not ready or wanting all that, just a car that I can cruise in and be comfortable or if I have the day off, go into a huge parking lot and swing the back-end around, or take to meets and let loose.

Thank-you in advance to everyone who may reply!

*Final note, if the community can seriously help me narrow it down, I'd love to do a poll! Maybe even then show the final product!*

oh... ty for the thoughts but I figured it was implied to be manual, I'm still very new to all of this but I do drive manual currently and have no will nor want to ever leave the stick.

I can't imagine it would be too tricky to put a T45 Transmission into them. I've seen them with a 4.1 rear gear in them and it makes them pretty lively.
No-one would ever suspect a thing...

Depends if you want something out the box or a little work.
From your list, 350 wins in terms of out the box capability and if you end up wanting to go and drift properly, would take the least to make it very capable.
300ZX are a bit of a dog to drift by the sounds of it (ask Nat) and work on due to the overcomplicated engine-bay.
240 and 280 go back to your shake, rattle and roll.

Fox...no idea. Seeing some of the interior fit/finish of American cars from the same era, that is going to be full of rattles.

Good luck :)

Foxbody mustang must be the cheapest option in the states surely?
Would imagine they have a massive aftermarket parts supply as well so no problems getting bits you need.

350z all day, got comfort for daily duties and will allow you to have fun.
As matt says mods are available off the shelf too.

this is awesome, thank you guys for your input. But have I found the best options?? I mean as I said I'm open to random thoughts, the 350z or foxbody can't be the only 2 options I would hope.

G35 Skyline 4 door manual

More practical than the 350 so better for daily duties, but same driveline / suspension so parts are easy to get.

Slightly longer wheelbase too so a bit more predictable when drifting

Loads of options but you want the best value for money.

Also this is mainly a British forum so the car options and costs for us over here are slightly different to you guys.

I'd love a 370GT. They're big, boaty, VIP as fuck and are still a respectable car to drive. I'd swap my R33 for one in a heartbeat
