The spec when I bought it was...
Nissan Silvia S12 ZX Turbo
CA18ET 1.8l T2 Turbo engine
Aftermarket Air Filter
About 2" Turbo back Exhaust 5" (roughly) Exit
Cosworth Intercooler with custom piping
Manual Boost adjust (currently running at 11psi)
Takioko (or something like that) aftermarket suspension lowered 15mm
4x 16" Team Dynamic wheels
2x 15" standard alloys
Rear interior stripped
Standard front seats
Bucket seat
Boost and Rev gauges
Helix performance clutch
And only 60k miles.
So heres how the storys gone so far.....
First thing I noticed was when I got it home the exhaust started to make a crap noise (technical ) and the boost would gain full and then drop so I checked around the turbo as the noise was coming from around that area and found that if i pushed the exhaust with my foot it would go quieter.
After inspection all four bolts that held the tubo to the manifold had worked loose as the locking washers were not done up.
Worked fine for a while but, and you live and learn, I did not do the locking washers up DOH
So, you guessed it loose again in about 2 days but this time I noticed the gasket looked like below so after alot of agrow but eventual success at one dealership I got a replacement gasket
Fitted that and did up the bolts and this time the locking washers nice and tight.
Next thing was to fit the bucket seat.
I know it's a bit chav but it's the only pic I have of the side of the car and the rear tyres were dead so I just finished them off....
I now have most of the stuff that I need but one thing missing.
A locking diff. After phoning nearly every Nissan specialist in the UK I decided no one was going to do an LSD for my S12 so that left one option.
MIG Style.
I went on the www.zxoc.co.uk and managed to find a whole rear axle for £45 from a really cool guy in Doncaster who was breaking one as he was using the engine for a jago jeep
So one evening I sat with my feet up drinking tea and watched my mates dismantle the rear axle.
Got the diff out and cleaned it up where it was then taken to Mitch and he welded it. Cheers mate
Thats just been fitted and I am just about ready to start drifting with a newbie setup.
Now just gotta start the practice and damn do i need it.
But as someone famous once said "It does't matter how slow you go so long as you never stop"
And drifting is one thing I am determined to get....
