Posh
I'm selling the setup i've had in my past two cars, as I have no use for it now - it's not suited to any of the cars in the household.
This is quality kit that provides a lovely sounding but economical set-up.
First off, the speakers:
These are DLS's 'Entry Level' Speakers, but that's no bad thing - I must have auditioned about 15 different sets before I settled on these, and as far as i could see, there was nothing better in the price range . Offerings from the usual suspects such as Infinity, Alpine, JBL etc were miles behind these in terms of quality. They have a lovely relaxed sound with a detailed top end :smitten:, none of the harshness you get with things like the Infinities.
IIRC power handling is 50wRMS with a 4 ohm impedance. That's all you really need to know.
Pictures:
Come with 6.5" Drivers (Perfect for the front of the SX), crossovers with alterable filter, and tweeters. Also has the original grills that are unused, all original packaging, and the instructions.
£60 for these please
Secondly, an amp to drive them. This is a Helix HXA400 MKII. Helix are the more accessible range of Audiotec Fischer, the company who make Brax amps, arguably some of the best in the best in the business.
Important bits:
4x70w at 4 ohms.
4x125w at 2 ohms
2x250w at 4 ohms bridged.
This is a beautifully made, very musical amp. Very understated and classy (I personally think it looks gorgeous :smitten: ) that sound significantly better than most i have tried.
It has switchable high and low pass filters at set levels (Can't remember which, possibly 80hz?) but can be upgraded with modules that allow this to be varied.
Drove the above speakers and below sub beautifully in my SX.
Pictures:
Again, comes with original packaging, as well as the instructions.
This is hard to price as these are pretty rare, especially in the UK - I paid nearly £200 for it, and they were a fair whack more than that new, so I'm after £150
Finally, a sub to fill in the bottom end
This one's a bit of a connoisseur's classic! It's an original JL Audio 8w6v1. An 8", dual 6 ohm coil sub(IIRC, but i may be wrong). A bit of a legend, the original w6 range is applauded for it's sound quality. This is a sub for those of you are are after quality rather than quantity. It can drop surprisingly low for it's compact size, but packs a lovely punch, and is brilliantly musical. In my SX it was just about perfect for me.
It is also happy being run in a very small sealed box, great for restricted space.
I ran this at 3 ohms from the above amp and it rocked!
Pictures:
I'm after £50 for this. If you pick it up, you can have the box as well (it's not great looking, but it's bob on to JL's specs, so ideal volume)
All items are located in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, but i can post all of them except the sub box.
Together though, they would make a brilliant low price install for any car, and i'm gutted to let them go If someone wanted the whole lot i would let it go for £240.
