Question about the Bee-R rev limiter

it's one limit for all the gears, it's a very basic little box of tricks, it has a RPM dial, and gain + another rpm dial that provides a seperate rev limit when the handbrake is engaged, so you can spool the Turbo, and get perfect launchs

Sounds like it's quite a wonderful toy to have. :D

So basically it's a rev limiter/launchcontroller.

Very tempted to get one. Not hard to wire it either I presume? Only 4 wires if I'm not mistaken?

Edit: what's the gain for? Sorry for the retarded questions. :wack:

I haven't got the instruction manual, and have only had a little play, but the gain seems to be the length of the pulse, i.e. how many miliseconds it stutters for, by adjusting it, you can get short little pops, or massive backfires that shake the whole car, scare the shit out of you, and probably after a while will blow your exhaust off :D

wiring is basically: cam position, cam reference, +, -, handbrake, pretty easy once you've wired the position and reference the wrong way round and corrected it ;) :D

lol, I'll definitely have a closer look now. I would get one right away, if I wasn't saving up for some new rims.

Thanks for all the replies!

LOL funny you should say that, all the gaskets and seals are stuffed on my exhaust, and some of the boxes keep getting holes blown in them...

Ignition cut limiters....

How much did it cost you with shipping and how long did it take to get to you?

It looks like just the thing i need to stop me hitting the standerd limiter in a mid drift panic attack :wack:

Looks like its around £150 from takakaira. Could just be what I need. Am I right in thinking you set the first rev dial to the standard limited value, the second to your desiered cut off value and the third for the gain?

nope.. 1st dial is desired rev limit, 3rd is gain.. the middle is a secondary rev limit for when the handbrake is engaged..

I think if you're looking for a rev limiter, although a ignition cut is much safer than a fuel cut which will result in running lean, it all depends how it's set up.
A spark cut system that regularly allows unburnt fuel into the exhaust manifold will cause ignition between the head and turbo similar to old antilag systems which could seriously knacker your turbo/gaskets......
