Question regarding M52B28 bmw engine swaps?

For anybody who has swapped an e36 2.8 engine into something like an E30, how did you remove the ABS? I have been speaking to someone who said it can be effectively 'mapped' off the ECU (and also told me it's a common thing to do on conversions hence this question!) If so who did you get to do it? Looking for someone to do it to mine near Lincoln area.

Hy. I did not swap my engine but my ABS is also switchable. 10bugs and some annoying wiring, that's it.
Search for the right abs related cable an connect it to an switch, so you can have it on or off, how you need it.
It's like pulling the fuse with a switch. ABS Light on = turned off. No light = still ABS like nothing happened.
I can show you where the right Cable is on a regular E36 but only on a german site.

I don't know how that mapping should work. I never heard something like that in relation with ABS. If it works somehow, I guess it's not cheap.

^^^ this is long.

Just send your ECU to someone like EndTuning and he will remove the need for the ABS signal in the ecu. He'll also sort the other bits at the same time like removing EWS which you will want done for the conversion anyway.

Thanks boys, I have already tried bridging the two applicable pins but no luck unfortunately, mine is currently rpm limited at 5200 electronically (i.e. not fuel/air related as it's fine up to that point)

Can I get this straight, if say I removed all the abs kit on my e34 do I now have a rev limiter?

From the above I'm getting the impression I'm going to piss the neighbours off tomorrow checking :(

As far as i'm aware it only affects the rev limit when driving (so revving the tits off it on the drive in neutral won't work)

I've finally found someone with some knowledge on the situation!

"The bridging pins doesn’t work on this model because the signal doesn’t come through the clocks. On other BMWs, it would be the diff sends a signal to the clocks, and if the clocks are happy with the ABS, it’ll pass the diff pulse to the ECU on a speed signal input pin.
On a 328, there isn’t a speed signal input pin, the only possible link is a wire listed as going direct to the ABS, and although details are sketchy, it does mention it is a filtered or processed signal, so wouldn’t be just a raw pulse."

I'm not sure wether it's my specific year 328 that the bridging doesn't work on as we did it to my housemates 328 (95/96 model) and it worked fine, and several of my friends with 328s have had luck with bridging the applicable pins.
