r154 remote shifters

Hey guys, anyone know if a remote shifter from the newer r154 will fit on a jz70 r154? I've read somewhere that the bolt holes don't line up, any way to mod it? Or does anyone know someone who makes extended shifters? A guy in the UK used to sell some on ebay for around £100 but they aren't listed anymore, wondering if anyone knows him?

Another question is does anyone have a link to part numbers for the 1jz vvti engine and r154? I could do with some for calling in at toyota to get prices for some parts, all the stuff I need is on driftmotion but wanted to get an idea for UK costs first before ordering really.

Cheers!

It won't fit straight on.. You'll need to get the entire rear housing.

It's much easier, and better to make one from the original non remote shifter. The factory remote shifter is horrible to use, even after its had solid bushes made, it still feels sloppy and doesn't find gear like the others do.

Ah that sounds crap. The one I saw modded was the shifter retainer had been extended or would it be better with a dog leg in the stick? Defo don't want sloppy shifts haha

If you know someone who's handy with a welder thats easy enough to do, cut the selector shaft, weld a section into it, do the same for the housing, thats it.

As dale said you need the whole housing if you want to fit a cradle shifter, its a common misconception it just bolts up.

Luckily my mate is a welder so I will give it to him haha. Can you buy selector shafts new from Toyota? I don't have anything, literally a box with a bellhousing lol. No luck finding any second hand yet
