R32 GTR Group A(?) Build

Ello. I usually pop on here to stalk peoples builds, hope there's something dirt cheap in the sales ads, and flog some skyline bits. Always wanted to post some build bits of my R32 GTR but because I don't do much intentional sideways driving I never have, not really in the rules huh.

Since a few of you are Japanese car fans, modified car fans, competition car fans, and good car fans, I thought I'd pop a post up anyway and share a bit of the build in this non-drift section.

I've been putting together some videos, I'll nest a couple below so you don't have to run away elsewhere. But high level... I'm building an R32 GTR for competition, racing. The shell is now a group A shell, but some components from now on will differ, both better and worse... here's a picture of how it stands at the moment.

I have a crack at anything I can really, do it all in my garage.

Always good to have more people having a look and helping out with comments here and there. Had some really helpful input so far.

Cheers

here's a random one, and the latest one.

awesome project dude! I won't lie.....I cried a little once I realised its my old GTR

Definitely following this and your YouTube channel

Haha hey buddy. Its a lucky GTR! It's been very spoilt in my ownership and now it's dedicated to what they were designed for in the first place :)

Forgot to update on here - but here's another one.

Has anyone measured one of these diff's before rebuilding it and found the tolerances to be out?

I'm not sure if this is a '32 thing only, or if any more nissan folk can benefit from this. But here's how to fix a dash bubble..

Also drilled 1000 holes in and devalued all the vents.

Righttt... this one took the longest to figure out. Window regs might not get everyone's heart rates up... but there you go. This has been one of the most satisfying things to figure out yet.

Sorry its been a while. I've been selling loads of stuff. FYI I haven't bought window trim and don't intend to pay that much. I'd rather buy goggles.

So a while ago I was building an R32.

Had a month I had to spend finishing up the house for some new arrivals. Managed to get some time on the car over the weekend though so I thought I'd wrap up a video and update where I am.

I think there's so more stuff coming up maybe.. finally got window trims. Got all the stuff for machining. Been mapping out the wiring looms. We'll get there.

Here's an update, maximum head frustration. And if you don't find these turbo elbows exciting you're on the wrong build thread.

Next day or two will see me dropping all the parts off at Thurston, so the next couple of jobs are body / interior. I borrowed an N1 rear spat off a friend of mine so I might try my hand at mould making. Welcome break from die grinders.

Been a bit slow I'm afraid. I've been trying to do some bits of fabrication for others as well as house renovation.

Also the unit is becoming a bit of an issue too. The rent has gone up and the value is no longer there for me really, so I'm looking to build a 'shed' at the end of the garden instead. It'll pay for itself within a couple of years.

Anyway, enough excuses.
