R32 import prices

Hey all, I'm currently looking into importing an "r32 gtst type m" into the country as UK prices for r32's allready in the UK seem excessively high.

I remember a few years back u could pick one up in the UK for around £3-3500 mark, but prices seem to have rocketed for cars that are for sale in the UK.

What at could I expect to pay to import a fairly stock r32 gtst into the UK in today's prices?

I know a guy who may be selling a fairly stock GTST.
Import prices may look cheap but once you add in the shipping, fees and taxes its generally above a UK car price anyway

The price of 32's kills me these days.
I'd love another but can't bring myself to spend the money on one.

My previous ones:

Paid £2100 with welder, coilovers and gtr seats:

Next one was £2500, mint, gtr rep with plenty of goodies:

And the last one was £3500. Huge spec, T70 turbo, cams, inlet, buckets, 8 point cage etc:

Well that puts in into perspective as to how much prices have inflated! thing is I'll pay the price as I really want one!

,,^^^^^ and that's why the prices are rising. Not hard to work out really is it. Supply and demand, if the demand is higher than the supply, prices will rise.

I paid just over £5000 for my 32GTST Type M ... It's immaculate underneath and pretty stock. Prices are just going up and up

Looks like id best get saving then! Am I right in saying that the GTST Type M had the wider arches and rear spats? Are there any other noticeable differences between type M's and normal GTST's?

I have a feeling also it's because the US can finally import these as they are old enough, they are ridiculous prices over there and importers are taking advantage, and why not! Seems odd but because the media is flagging up loads of R32's in the US, it naturally travels here and people want one, so as said before supply and demand kicks the price up.

Example:

If your'e wondering $14k is around £10k

With the cars being 25years old they are now legal in the USA. They demand is now higher and they supply is slowly getting less.... They will eventually be £15-£20k cars. Clean, well kept original ones.

What kind of mug pays big bucks for a R32GTST is beyond me. They're only good when well tuned, and then they still not the best thing ever. Never gonna be a full-on classic like a GTR either.

Tatty shitty stock R32s going for modified JZX100 money. Fuck, I paid a whole lot less for a JZX110 that's so mint everyone keeps asking me if the car's brand new.

GTR's, yes. GTS's, never, not in the UK anyhow.

Sorry I should have clarified thats what I meant. GTR's are future classics.

I predict the same thing will happen when S15s are 25 years old, they won't increase like GTR's but the US market will want them and the price will increase at JDM Auction Houses.

Its been a long process for me deciding on what car id be happy to spend £4000-£5000 and I wasn't happy paying 4k for a rusty more or less standard s14.
Ive always had a soft spot for r32's and I was happy to pay the price for one. I was between stage 2-3 s13, standard s14 or a clean unmodified r32 with no rust or damage. The decision was easy for me!
