R32gtr or rx7fd3

Which would you pick? Not so much on the drifty front but a occasional weekend hooner with occasional drift and trackday use? Will do about 5000 miles a year if I went rx7 route it would either be one that's had a rebuild with warranty on it or a very low mileage example!

gtr all the way imo as a Nissan fan its a better investment better car and a shit load less of a chance of it going bang

I'm steering more towards the FD though it's lighter it handles better makes awesome noise the only thing that worry a me is reliability which I know I will get with the r32 FD interior is 1000x better aswell...

well the rotary engines are not too durable as far as i know. If you leave it stock it will work, but the wear on the rotors can be problem. I never had one tho, this is just what I think and hear from others.

Both great cars, both will rape your wallet bigtime if they go badly wrong.

I wouldn't say one is hugely better than the other, but both quite different from each other in almost all aspects, so nobody can choose but you.

The rotors themselves pretty much never ever wear.

Yeah I've done a lot of research into the rx7 it seems that the main issue is keeping them cool which I would get on top of aswell and would do as many precautionary modifications as possible

Personally I prefer R32s but still love the rotary FD
All down to preference I guess since they're both powerful cars

IMO it's the mapping that kills most modified rotaries rather than cooling problems.

That and ancillaries failing an people not treating them right. If you have everything set up right they're fine. There are various things you can do to stop them failing.

Not driven an r32 but I'd be extremely surprised if the handling came anywhere near an fd.

FD3S all day long. Had one for two years. It put a smile on my face every time I drove it. Look after it and its fine. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Its usually written by non owners.

No point asking, just go test drive them both and you choose.
All your ever going to get is the opinions of people who prefer the one they owned or own.

See what one you like instead of asking.

This ^^^ you've narrowed your choices down to two bloody nice options each with pros and cons in their own right, so go and test drive a few examples of each and then make your own informed decision.....and don't forget to let us know how you got on, what you decided to buy and include pics
