Hi guys,

so I'm looking to import a car from japan and I'm unsure which way to go I either want a r34gtt or a jzx100 chaser I could even throw a s15 spec r in the mix I guess.

im looking to use the car for a daily driver with occasional drift/track use. I'm keen on the r34 down to the looks and the oh my god it's a skyline factor but I like the chaser due to reliability from the 1jz and r154 box.

so what would you choose!?

I'd go Chaser personally, more of a stealth factor as less people know what they are and you won't be paying Skyline tax to insure it. I had one as my daily for a couple of years and its possibly the best all rounder I've ever had. I also personally prefer the sound of the JZ to the RB.

The trade-off is that parts for them are harder to come by, stock parts can be ordered straight through Toyota but finding aftermarket parts for them is a royal pain. If you're planning on modding, best bet is to import one with the majority of your intended mods already fitted.

The only problem I found with importing a modded car from japan is by the time you get the car to where your happy with it you have removed 90% of the stuff that gave the car a premium price in japan.. But like Andy says jzx's are hard to mod any parts are prob rare an worth keeping

I'd say jzx100.
I always wanted a jzx100, and I havnt seen a bad thing said about them. Only thing that out me off is that they are becoming more popular in Ireland (where I'm from). It's the most commonly imported car after the AE86 ATM and I like something different.
Hence the 1jz jzz20 soarer :)

I'd say r34 but I'm bias toward skylines, although when I went up to jap bash last year we met a chaser on the motor way and dint have a clue what it was, rapid though.

having owned both a jzx100 chaser and 4 door r34 i have to say skyline much rather the noise of a good rb
