Recommended diff & shafts

Hi all,

I have recently put a 1jz into my ps13, its going to be mapped and running around 480bhp,, but its currently running stock diff and shafts, now I know they won't last long lol

I believe it has a s14 rear subframe if that makes any difference

Thankyou :)

Cheapest option is honestly just buy replacements. You're best to just see if they survive, some people get great life out of stock axles, even in competition drifting. If they start breaking you can bandaid fix it by putting axle spacers on the hub end (if you're running it between 0 and -1.5deg camber) while you sort an uprated solution

I wouldn't bother with the 5x1 option. They're getting harder to find and the increase in strength over the 3x2's is debatable. GT-R subframe and axles are also mega expensive, and if you're going that avenue you're only a small step from a full Winters quick change, so not worth it at those power levels.

The best option on the market now are Villains' 350z conversion axle stubs. They take stock axle stubs and weld on flanges to allow the use of 350z axles. Give that a search and see if it's suitable for your situation

Quite a few of the local guys down my way have broken stock 14 shafts with around 350hp. I however ran an s13 diff with 14 shafts for about 4/5years with 280-300hp and only upgraded to 5 bolt skyline diff and shafts as I wanted to change diff ratio at the same time. Although when I checked my s13 diff the cup bearings did have some slack/play in them.

As @BenRice says probs best to try it and see, you might find they last a while but if you break a couple in quick succession then you want to upgrade to gts-t diff and shafts if you are in the uk, they are bolt in if you have s14 rear subframe, arms and hubs.

Good luck!

I have diff & driveshafts from my Nissan Gloria Y32. I have been told they are the same as the r32 gtr diff. The driveshafts are really beefy.
The subframe mounts are the same as an s13.
Currently sat in my garage doing nothing if you're interested.
