Removing the lambda sensors?? Bad idea??

Just went to start my lil Sunday project or removing the cats and back box on my daily 323ci e46 and realised the lambda sensors are slap bang in the middle of the exhaust pipe!!! (Why can't they be like 200's!!!)
Anyway I'm gonna have the 325 manifold conversion and remap once I've sorted the breathing
Can I get away with removing them??
