Renault Clio 1.2 N reg 1996 Green
99,000 miles
MOT until March 2010
I bought this car over Christmas as a cheap runaround but unfortunately have not been able to get it started since I've had it. I actually bought it off of a friend and have known the car for a couple of years. When buying it we couldn't get it running, so the following weekend something called a TDC sensor was replaced and the car ran fine yet again, after being dropped off at my house I parked it around the back and left it there in good working order. A couple of days later, after having run it only once since parking it, again the starting trouble continued. I haven't done anything like checked fuses, checked for a spark etc. I really haven't had much time and couldn't be bothered to. It is low on fuel but should have between 5-10 litres in it at least so I'm unsure its a fuelling issue.
The car is far from pretty and does have flat paint/scratches/small dents on various panels. The interior is complete to best of my knowledge. The only thing I have noticed is the plastic beneath the steering column is broken which you can probably see pictured.
My friend had foolishly left the sunroof open a crack while it was not being used causing it to let in water. I have closed securely and it hasn't since let any water in although the carpet and some fabric is still wet in the interior where I simply can't run it to dry it out. It was worse but I managed to run it for 4 hours only once which got rid of the majority of water from the cars interior. Once dry it will be in need of a good clean!!
I can't think off hand what to say, it's simply a cheap economical car that could do with some attention to get running. I am yet to actually drive it any distance but the trip around the corner didn't show any signs of mechanical problems. As I say above, I've seen the car being used and running with absolutely no problem for the past couple of years.
I guess this would suit someone mechanically minded with a bit of space and time looking to take a small gamble on an intact non-runner to make a small profit. It really just needs a bit of attention and somebody with some time enthusiasm to get it going which personally I'm a bit short of!
If you want any other pictures or have any questions then please feel free to ask.
Car is located just off of J11a M5 in Gloucester.
I just want £50 for it.
