Retard / Bypass Valve - In stock

It's real name is a QTP Exhaust Bypass Valve, but after fitting one to the V10 it became known as a 'Retard Valve' :D

It an electronically operated valve that vents exhaust gas where ever you fit it, and for example gave an extra 22bhp on the dyno on my lowly naturally aspirated car, so when fitted to the Driftworks S15 and R32 soon we are expecting great results.

Loads in stock, and available in sizes 2.5" 3" 3.5" and 4" in the shop QTP ELECTRONIC EXHAUST BYPASS VALVE

and here's a little video to demonstrate what it does:

"Happens to have a V10 M5 engine in it" .......... yeah, like you stumble across them every other day. :wack:

Crazily today I have actually been looking for a solution that allows me to run effectively straight through on the Z33 when I want to, would this work (directing flow away from backbox and straight out to atmos)?

EDIT: check link first in future :wack:

would I be correct in thinking if this was fitted before the cat it completely removes the need for a decat ?

Yes and no, for example you wouldn't want to get the car mapped with it on the bypass valve then run it daily with the cat still in for example. For a stock-ish car then yeah you are correct.

How can you tell when the valve is either fully opened or fully closed? Obviously except for the noise.
You don't think the noise is enough? :p. It's really obviously closed when it's closed. You basically hold the switch closed until it's closed. You can't overload the motor in the valve.

im drawing up ideas of having the valve vent to a pipe out the passanger wing...once ive got all the pipes ill be ordering one of these wee beasties!!

This is the solution to my 105db trackday problem...

But maybe a stupid question. For example my M3 exhaust runs two pipes from front to back. Does it just take 1 to fit then?

i got a set from the US before you guys were selling them seem to be the same if they are there well made :) cant wait to fit them to the v8 ;)

And if it uses the valve in just onw pipe ? It would be bad ?

Would work to a degree with the air taking the path of least resistance down the shorter open pipe but by the virtue of having twin pipes they are not going to be a wide enough pipe to be of any benifit

Hi , i allready have the qtp installed and it´s perfect !

But i was woondering if its possible to comand the valve if buttons from my steering wheel !?

I have a m3 e46 and i would like to open and close the valve with the R/T button and the other button bellow its possible ?

Does anyone know how to do it ?

Thanks
