Yes, I know it's not going to be FIA approved, but I wanted a bit of extra protection in case of the obvious, so I enlisted the services of an engineering officer to make me a cage for the rear of my drifter.
I saw he was making his own off roader from scratch and thought if it's strong enough for that, it'll be strong enough for a cage. He has a mega pipe bending press which bends nicely without rucking up the inside of the curve, plus all the bits to design and build this sort of thing and is a bit of a mig meister to boot
Even when it was tacked in with four spot welds it was solid and hopefully I'll never need it, but it's nice to have. It's out at the moment so I can paint it, and then hopefully it'll be fully welded in tomorrow. Then all I have to do is replace my clutch for the fifth time in two months, and go and play
