Who runs what joints on which part of their chassis, Who has coilovers and full Rose jointed chassis and who runs poly bushes with stiffer springs, and whats the difference it has made to the handling, ride comfort and predictability of the car when on or near the limit???

on a 200sx s14 i run

rose jointed rear camber arms
rose jointed rear toe arms
rose jointed rear traction arms
rose jointed front castor arms
front and rear tien pillow ball top mounts
poly bushes on the subframe mountings
tein he suspension with 7/9 kg springs
poly bushes on whiteline arb's
the car now feels really tight and i know what its dooing mid drift, its now very more stable and you can throw it around and it just sticks to the road.

on the road the ride is quite harsh but it still well drivable

doesnt rose jointed mount make alot more noise

i have just bought jame's tango ae86 and that makes some very very loud noises when being driven

have asked him what it is making the noise but havent had a solid reply yet

believe its because alot of the joints on the car are rose joints

can ne explain the exact difference between these and the advantages / disadvatages to it?

thanks

matt

Matt, it will also be because James' car is totally stripped to the absolute bare bones. You'd be surprised how much noise a standard car makes anyway if you rip out the entire interior. Solid joints and poly bushes and etc etc will transmit more noise though, correct. But erm, if you're worried about noise... :dermal: :wack:

could be the diff if its got a proper one in there,

my car is allways noisy so i dont notice the differance, it will make it louder as flexable rubber has been replaced with solid steel joints
