RX-7 vs. Silvia

rx7 fc all the way :-D

although there are lovely silvias all over and i wouldnt be ashamed to own one :-)
 
I personally prefer an rx7 over a silvia. There is nothing wrong with a silvia but I think that an rx7 with an aftermarket body kit would suit my taste better.

I feel dumb lol. The wankel engine actually has more power than a silvia engine stock. But the idea of a rotary instead of good ol' pistons seems weird to me.
 
In terms of styling (which doesn't account for much on this forum) neither of them are to my taste. Nothing can beat the sound of a wankel with some money thrown at it, but the silvia is always going to be the most popular choice isn't it?
 
Yeah, it will. But because the rx-7 has a wankel engine it is not going to be the most popular choice because people are so used to cylinders. But with all of the misconceptions about wankels people are reluctant to try it. But I looked and you can get a 20B swap for about 18k and you get 700 hp. But who wants to throw that much money at the engine?

I love that body kit! Is this just an internet found pic or did you see this car in real life and took a pic?
 
it depends. if I wanted a drift slag that I didn't give a shit about, then I'd have an s13. on the other hand, if I wanted a badass street weapon I'd want a nice clean FD with a big single turbo, slammed on some TE37s with standard bumpers. :)
 
Ive got a silvia,

but RX7 wins hands down IMO for looks. i just dont undetstand the engine, heard they are not as reliable, bits cost more etc.

ive got a rx7 fd and had a s14a... the rx7 is the most beautiful car iv ever seen.. the engine is a horrible evil vacuum pipe hell hole! im going to rip mine out and stick the sr20 in!

That sounds like a very good idea. When I get my rx7 I'm gonna have in crankin' 500 hp.
 
Rx7 chassis with a v8 or 1j IMO

As for looks till today they look like a propper modern sports car

That said - if I had the cash I wouldn't buy one
