RX7 FC3S

hey guys,

so people have been telling me for a while that i should post some stuff about my mazda that i am very slowly building up.

so ive owned the car probably just under two years. brought is on the thought the engine was good, turns out it had low compression on the rear rotor :( :( got another engine in from japan, fitted and compression tested at 7.1 :D

was slowly building teh car up fitting HSD MONO PRO coilovers and was slowly swapping stuff out as it broke.

had to get new wheels so got some of of drift works as the orginals just were not giving it the right look.

decided to go poly bushed and also solid mount fro Parts shop Max.

so i was daily driving it and the main chassis loom caught fire due to water sitting in it, which sucked ass. so had to buy a new daily, and try and resolve this problem, i tried patching the loom, that didnt work, so i managed to source a replacement which was extremely hard, got it all fitted and everything works again wooo!

thought while the interior was out i would get a custom roll cage fitted at where i work, still waiting on the cage and the car has been there since november. but on a plus its dry storage and also got all the rust i could fix, fixed, its now had one coat of rust epoxy mastic, need to do a touch up coat, then underseal along with cavity seals! then she should be weather proof!

other things in the pipe line are i have a garage BB wing coming from japan :D :D cant wait for this to turn up and fit it.

have some paint work to touch up where it has been sat in the workshop and people knock it :'(

once the cage is fitted i will refit the interior and look to get bucket seats and harnesses along with CADmy own seat mounts among other things, such as looking at making some sort of lower rear subframe brace as i think it may be moving :S :S

the main engine plan in all honesty is to 1j swap it, seen a few people do it and it looks like a reliable choice with lower maintenance cost than the rotary. i know people will call it wrong, or its not natural etc.

all nice comments welcome and will update when i can.

thanks for reading

Will

Yh man the handling is good, its bumpy and can be twitchy and does follow the road but its all expected with the bushings on it, my next suspension will be getting teh part shop max front control kit. which will be nice and gives more lock :)

never owned one?

fair enough mate, i love the shape! only problem is with them is the rust now lol as they are getting old... :( hopefully i have rust proofed as mush as i can but you never will stop it all. Im hoping to get a bn rep kit for it at somepoint!

well if i ever see u i will let take it for a spin when its back on the road :)

so, not much going on with the car this week but will be good progress next week :D

finished epoxy masticing it last weekend, done a coat of underseal just to be sure. will do under the rear sub frame when i drop it out to get that powder coated.

next week my cage is finally getting fitted and should look sweet, then the weekend i will refit all the interior which will be a fun task but looking forward to it looking like a normal car again...

picture will be posted as the cage is being build :D

so, stuffs been craaaaazzzzzyyyy at work. car is still having the cage fitted, its go slowly :L

managed to get in an do a second coat of underseal on the main chassis, should be good for its life outside for a bit, until i can find a cheap unit (any one in somerset nr Glastonbury has a space and inst to pricey PM me), also inserted some new studs for the low wing points as the old bolts snapped off and wouldnt drill out easily :L

will up load pictures once cage is done, hoping the rear wing is coming next month from JWM.

Dude i finally got one :) its na and red but i finally got one... just gotta spend some time when its sunny de-rusting and also get the e36 on the road ... hows your project going?
