Daily driver coilovers discussion review
I had bc coilovers on Toyota starlet and top mount failed
I have S15 daily driver for 8 years
Had bc coilovers with softer spring rate 7/5kg I think
Rear shock failed leaked and front camber plate bearing corroded badly
I decided to rebuild new shocks top hats bearing saved about 300 in total. Wasn't worth the hassle
Now again front shocker just burst
Don't get me wrong I understand their cheap for track use and do job well
I've used them since they first came on scene over ten years. I drive in all weather on uk roads every day. My extensive experience I think they're crap.
So I want try something new
Want hear reviews of KW road use comfortable reliability. Over cheaper prefered
Tein Z flex option

If you're driving in all weathers, no coilover is really any good for road use. The salt, grit and shit on the roads just ruins them. Coilover bags and regular cleaning can help.

The state of the roads doesn't help either, potholes and knackered tarmac everywhere, no wonder you burst a shock with that kind of abuse.

Any damper manufacturer that puts form over function wouldn't get on my list.
When they start stating 'stance' and show pretty coloured parts you get an idea of what they are about.
When they start showing damper graphs you really get to see what you are buying.

RHD Japan still list the Nismo S-tune suspension. Pricey at £650, but for road use I'd bet it's very good.

I have HSD Dualtech coilovers in my S13, with 7kg spring as at the front and 5kg springs at the rear. Mine isn't a daily as such but it gets driven all over the UK when I'm on holiday (Lake District, through Wales etc, as well as around London) and I'm quite happy with them. If I had my time again I'd go for 6kg and 4kg springs (they weren't available when I was buying them and I needed some urgently). With that being said mine doesn't get used for any track work, just road trips.
