S-Body Steering Racks

Hi,

I need to buy a replacement steering rack for my s15 spec r. I've found a genuine one for my exact car, but i can probably get a 14/14a rack cheaper. I've been told that the spec r rack is unique and not interchangable like the other s body racks - but cant find anyone who can confirm this. Can anyone help me out?

cheers for the reply. Have you actually fit an S14 rack onto an S15 because all I have read is that S15 Spec R racks are different. Can't see why myself but need to be sure before buying one really

I had both side by side.

look on google image.

why would Nissan go to the trouble of fitting some special steering rack to the spec R only?
