I think it's for when the car has been tubbed and slammed to the ground stops them from popping out maybe but I ain't 100% on that

Here is a more detailed explanation.

When lowering your S/R body you will often find excessive movement in your driveshafts between the diff and hubs, especially so if you are running between 0 and 1 degrees camber.

The problem is often further compounded when the car is fitted with subframe risers and/or drop knuckles (eg Driftworks Geomasters) as the resulting angle of the driveshaft causes considerable play. It is this play that can often cause premature CV boot failure; an issue nobody wants to deal with on the road or track.

By fitting these aluminium shaft spacers in between your driveshafts and the output flanges on your diff, play will be reduced to an absolute minimum, prolonging the life and improving the reliability of your driveshafts and CV boots.
