Just browsing Auto Trader for possible new cars and was wondering at what year did the S13 gain an LSD as standard and at what years were they facelifted.

Also do all s14s have the SR20DET engine and do they all have LSD's as standard?

I'll be changing the diff almost straight away but would be nice if I could drift until the diff is changed!
 
all S14's have SR's and VLSD's. not sure about the changeover for S13 VLSD's though, but it makes it easier to fit a proper diff if you have a VLSD, so worth getting. just don't pay more for it :thumbs:

What sort of price should I be looking to pay to get this driving again [i.e new turbo and gaskets etc]
 
Yeah I'd give it all a go myself or get the lads at work to do it [pretty good having 3 trained mechanics working for you :D] so labour would be a few McDonald's meals at most!
Spoken to the guy and the car has done 140k my only concern is that it would need a rebuild with that mileage and that possibly its not just the turbo thats blown?
 
would need to know the history really to say whether 140k is too much. If it's been religiously serviced, it could well be fine. If not, you just need to get it at a cheap enough price to factor in an engine change
 
James - I was hoping to get him down to £1.5k then that allows me enough to play with if anything else goes wrong. My main concern is that its not just the turbo thats blown - are there any other tell-tale signs I can look for? Also when the turbo went would it have damaged anything else?
What sort of prices do SR20's go for anyhow?

Sorry for all the questions but Im a newbie to S14's!

Mitchc - I want that car! Or at least my car to look like that - its a guy from DriftUnit in the US's car.
