S14/13 £1500 Budget?

As above, im looking to buy very soon and for now only have a £1500 budget. What kind of condition will i be looking at for that price? Road legal atleast? Or about ready for the scrappy?
 
if you keep your eye open you should be able to pick up one that needs some work for that, but doubt it will have and tax or test
 
Looking at one with no MOT for that kind of money mate. Most likely down to rust. Check out the SXOC if your from Britain, theres a S14a currently for sale for £1100 IIRC, failed it's MOT and has a fair chunk of rust.

Then you're looking at the wrong fucking cars.

S-bodies rust, it's just a fact of life.
You've gotta get your wallet out if you want something that properly mint, most of the decent shells have been snapped up already so finding something clean is hard.

The bottom end of the market is now 95% munters.

At least the seller is being honest, and has priced it accordingly.

There are plenty of similar cars out there in just as bad a state asking for a much bigger price.

THIS. Theres plenty of cars that have had botched jobs to hide the rust as well. If you want a decent one you'll have to pay for it unfortunately bud :(
 
I can and dont mind having to weld, i have access to everything i need but the car in question does need alot of work, if im right new clutch and bad vvt rattle and tax and test on top. If i was to up the budget to 2000 would i still be looking at the same?
 
For 850 three months ago I got a s13 auto with 40,000 on a rebuit engine , all rust had been sorted , wiseco pistons , new nissans bottom end bearings , rebuilt head , granted it's an auto but a week of a few hours a night and it's now manual :D , I also had a scrapper I used for box and clutch etc
