At the minute I'm sorting out a lot of issues I've just left and felt with the likes of bad wiring and the shittiest exhaust in the world, I'll try and update it a bit more

The car was built near 4 years ago with the intent to daily/ track/ drift it but sadly I can't drift, atleast not yet, spent the last few years autotesting and sliding around s bit so starting to get a feel for it, hoping 2020 is the year the escort does finally drift!!!

Looks good bro. Whats front pcd now 4x114.3?
Nope it's 4x108 ford pattern still, the hubs were welded up and redrilled again, although I wish I had of got 5x114 as the wheel choice seams significantly better, there's very little around that's 4x108 15 inch with a 0 offset, I'm currently using et17 pug wheels which sets them back in the arches a bit too much and reduces lock too much, hoping to get some fiesta 15s and flip the centers centers to get close to a 0 offset

Quick update, this is the beginning of the new exhaust system, full 3 inch system, replacing the old awful fitting Ashley 2 1/4 system that caught the ground on every opportunity, always fell off the mounts and generally was just poor... the new one, when finished will be much tighter to the floor for better clearance despite being bigger in diameter and I'll fit a few extra mounting points so it cant fall off. I'm at a standstill as I'm waiting for the rest of the bends to arrive to get it over the axle and then there will be a straight through pipe at the rear for lairy fun times and a silencer i can bolt on for road work and a little bit more subtlety

Since the exhaust is dead in the water while we're waiting for the slow boat from China... Onto the next thing. I've been wanting to do this for a while and got started and stopped since I needed the car or just didn't have time. This is the first time I've stripped it all off and started to build it up and apart from a couple of spots in the shell needing a bit of clearancing and a set of new leaf spring mounts/shock mounts needing made up it's going to be a straightforward bolt on affair...

Part 2 of this deal is to ditch the leafs altogether and run 4 links off the original leaf spring hangers and the tramp bar mounts, judging by using online calculators it should work out well and if I make the mounts on the axle side with multiple mounting holes as various heights then I should end up with as close to a full group 4 car suspension with none of the shell hacking I so strongly avoid!!!!

this also makes my plan to eventually splash out on HSDs easier since the car will use standard s13 coilovers front and rear!!!

So I haven't updated this but I've been working away, I've finished the rear coilover install and had the car out for a nessecary journey to see how it worked, the exhaust is mint, loud but sounds good, I'll be installing a rear silencer but I think I'll make a straight through pipe aswell so I can swap it out for track/drift day. The rear coilovers are too stiff (stock leafs and coilovers for a s13... Think that's a bit much but I'll see how it goes for a while, I'd rather spend money ditching the leafs and going to a 4 link setup rather than buy super light coils only to replace them again when I do go 4 link..
I've also finally fitted rear discs, I've yet to use them in anger but they seam like they're going to work out perfect, I used the biggest disc I could fit (280mm) and twin calipers from basically any ford/Volvo/Mazda from mid 2000s onwards, cheap, cheerful, light since they're all aluminium and plentiful options for decent pads if I need to upgrade them. I've still to plumb up the hydro to one set of calipers and finish the exhaust... And a list of things I want to get sorted still. This car will be finished one day... Nah....

Driving about with competition numbers on the side of your car not only makes you look like a dick.. it's also illegal.
