Seat time? Snetteron open pit lane or Lydden 5/10 min sessions?

Snetteron open pit lane or Lydden 5/10 min sessions?

which do you regular goers think is better value on the seat time. Itll be my first outing in my new mx5 drifter and I need to spend my money wisely, (no offence to either track).

thanks

Snetterton is the one for seat time but as it is an open pit lane you have mixed abilities on track. It's a seriously fast track!

Lydden is a bit more catered for new drivers, I did my first day there and loved it.

Cool thanks glen. I've done a few drift days in the past in various cars but this will be my first time on a 'proper track' I also really love Snetterton circuit so maybe I'll go for that.

Snetterton everytime, the ability thing is nonsense they only let 5-7 cars on track at any time they have plenty of overtaking areas if someone is going to slow. Just beware theres hardly any run off though and the glass is slick so you get it wrong you'll be in a wall somewhere.

Lydden is a lot safe now that you cant Manji the main straight. Its rare you'll hit anything on the top bend so the only risk is devils. I still think you're more likely to crash at Snetterton and its a much more fun track for me

Lydden hill's a great track for drifting but the only downside is if someone goes into the gravel or drops oil on the first lap thats your seat time gone and its an hour till the next one.....

First time at Snetterton on Saturday, most seat time ever!

They run a genuine open pit lane with up to 10 cars on track, but with only 20 cars in attendance and most of them obviously in the paddock with the bonnet up / wheels off most of the time. If your car had rubber & worked, you were on the track.
Even if they had sold their full 35 tickets would still have offered very good seat time.

Like Lydden now there is no Manji-ing down the straights at Snetterton. It is quite a quick track but to be honest no quicker than Lydden, it feels fast because there are more straights.
Although there isn't much opportunity to link turns it is great for practising initiations at speed, and every corner is a different shape.

Very friendly and efficient operation up there, good vibe in the paddock, definitely going back.
They really do proper noise testing (just scraped through)

Big Up MSVT & Snetterton, great that it was quiet but you deserve to be busy.

I can only echo the above. This is the most seat time I've had since Mallory were running. The track is fast but not intimidating. That said I did smash my front end of a tyre wall but that was easily avoidable on my part. I'll be back there as soon as I can.

I was at Snetterton the saturday just gone ,ridiculous amounts of seat time ,good circuit layout and friendly bunch of guys.
First time drifting on a circuit and I drove there and back fine (5 hour round trip) came off twice with no damage.
Unlike most drift days this one was very well organised.

I'm a big fan of Snetterton.

I've always preferred the layout of it and the mental amount of time on track compared to lydden.

I'm going back there on the 25th, can't wait!!

snetterton is running on the 24th as well through the sxoc. open pit, £125 including overnight camping and food with free changing on the sunday and a party on the sunday night

2 days drifting ftw
