Right then whose gonna tell me what suspension and what else i'll need to set mw R32 up for Drifting, can drift but as keen as hell. cheers Tony

hmmm theres loads of things to consider when setting a car up, but basically to start with all you need to d is go out and practice! :D :D
ideally i set of coilovers, and a diff would make the car more driftable, but the most important thing is to get out there and practice.
I suppose the basic theory is to get the suspension nice and stiff, bucket seat, harnesses etc etc.. you can get loads of suspension components that mean that you can adjust camber/ castor, toe in angles etc etc but unless you know what your adjusting to leave it be :)

1st thing id do (and did) would be to sort the suspension out :)

What suspension did you put on yours, what size wheels/tyres. are your arches rolled. What sort of diff, is it locked welded or what cos mine got a Top Secret Lsd in at the minute. Cant wait to sort it out. cheers Tony

suspension

Yes it is, but youve changed yours to coilovers, which id like to do cos it sits a tad too high on the back end. what sort did you get, where from and how much,Cheers Tony

bloody hell Tony :worthy:
have you already got this car or is it on the way now?
A safe bet for coilovers is to go for Teins (my R32 is coming with HE's)

James

Yes already got the car its superb and immaculate and probably to good nick to drift but i want to learn and i might as well use it. Had a gtr before that had been built for drifting but it was too loud, white and you had to be going to quick to learn how to slide it. That had adjustable coilovers, adj camber arms well adj everything but this cars so much more fun. Now i just want to learn how to do it. !st thread should have said CANT drift but keen as hell. Regards Tony

cool
get yourself along to a practice day then  Even with uprated shocks and springs it should be absolutely fine to get going

Can't wait for my R32 to land...... looking like January at the mo. Won't be quite as posh as yours though :)

James

Is that your car in your photo? whats the difference between Tein's and HE's?
Where are these practice days and can i get taught anywhere down in the essex area. Tony

Tony,
HE's are a specific model of Tein coilovers :) have a look here for more info.

Have a look in the events section here for details of practice days :)

And yes that's my car in the sig, but it'll be up for sale soon as I have an R32 on it's way over from Japan :) can't bloody wait :D

ive got tein ra with adjustable cambery type bars etc and im going to wait till the first meet, find a kind samaritan and let them explain what the fu** it should be set to :worthy:

It sounds daft, but I don't have too much info on the Skyline except that it's a Type-M, is pretty damn tidy and has Tein HE coilovers on it :)

As for the S14, I'm looking for £3500-£4000 for it. The spec is basically:
High mileage S14 but with-
Sweet 50k mile SR20DET engine
new clutch last month
mint gearbox
new rad
new D2 coilovers with 9/7 springs
600% uprated BARA viscous LSD
front strut brace
Corbeau Pro Race bucket seat + 4 point harness
NGK Iridium plugs
Apex boost control valve
Walbro uprated fuel pump
HKS front pipe, Dano decat and Blitz Nur Spec
m200SXt numberplate
Stern forged 17"x9j 3 spoke rims
Will be supplied with 12 months MOT

I've got some pics at home somewhere but it basically goes like this :D

That looks like a good car, why r u changing it? do you all run special tyres on the rear, knackered, cheap, worn or to you run them extra hard or what to get them to slide like that or are you just mad? Regards Tony

Id be interested to see how you guys adjust your camber, as you cant do it on coilovers cos of how the suspension works.. have to get an adjustable link arm or summat AFAIK... saying that id be happy for someone to prove me wrong :) :)
