Snap-off boss affecting horn?

When I bought my Nardi and HKB boss for my EK Civic (fwd I know :/) my horn button worked fine, however when I then bought the quick release 60mm spacer, the horn stopped working?

I am sure that it is/was all wired in properly, as if the wires touched the metal of the HKB boss the horn beeped, it seemed to be the material the actual spacer was made of, just not completing the circuit?

I'm probably just being a retard as I am known for it, I was just wondering if you guys knew of a way of fixing this, or if it's happened before that you know about? The wiring diagrams weren't the clearest as they were scans of the Japanese ones etc.

Any help would be appreciated, it isn't a major problem I was just wondering if you guys knew of anything that could fix it? Cheers!

They definitely work. I've used plenty myself. It's not impossible that something has broken. Have you checked continuity over each side of the spacer?

They earth off the boss, so essentially its exactly the same as not having the spacer there. Have a look at the diagrams again, they are pretty clear :)

I next get to work on my car this weekend, like I said, I'm pretty retarded with just about everything so hopefully if I use my head I can work it out.

Thanks for the words earlier Kam, about the HSDs, I should have enough money by next week to make an order.

I wouldn't go that far, I love the driving position so much! Being able to take my wheel off is just manly haha, but I am thinking about relocating the horn to a switch or something like that.

The quick release has a live terminal and an earth terminal, just hook these up to the boss live (connection) and earth (boss) and the horn push live (live connector) and earth (earth connector OR horn push outer ring OR similar)

Just had to solder on an earth connection on the back of the horn in the end, button works fine now :D

That way it completed the circuit and works, we were going to re-route the whole thing to a switch but it's all good now! :)
